What is not insured under Home Contents Policies ??
Boats, caravans and motor vehicles are not usually included in a home contents insurance policy.

Note: any part of the property which cannot be taken away in the event of a home move is normally considered under home buildings insurance, such as; fitted kitchens, bathrooms or fitted bedroom furniture.
N.B. Floor tiles which are stuck along their complete length are considered under home buildings insurance; fitted carpets, which are fitted simply at their edges - and so can be taken up - are always considered as part of the Contents. Carpet tiles that can be taken up are considered as Contents. Carpet tiles that have been glued down and are non-removable are also considered under home buildings insurance
